Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicle, including tractor-trailer,single dry van,and doubles trailer sets, to ensure timely delivery of freight across designated routes. Your expertise in adhering to safety standards and transportation regulations will help us maintain our reputation for reliable service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules.
- Transport various types of freight.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, including checking for mechanical issues and verifying load security.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and inspection reports in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with route manager to coordinate deliveries, report issues, and update delivery statuses.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated (e.g., doubles-triples).
- Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance.
- Experience operating single dry van, doubles with manual transmission preferred.
- Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for route planning and execution.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and adherence to all traffic laws.
- Physical ability to perform routine vehicle inspections.
