Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist who enjoys working one-on-one with clients to help them achieve their personal and functional goals. You will work in an assisted living community, assisting residents in improving and maintaining their independence, reducing their risk of falls, improving their gait, and collaborating with occupational and speech therapists to help each resident achieve their personal and functional goals.
You will have access to a therapy gym, where you are encouraged to be creative with your treatment sessions to meet the unique needs of each patient. The ideal candidate is someone who can build strong relationships with patients and possesses excellent communication skills when interacting with patients, their family members, and the nursing team. Duties
- Evaluate patients' physical abilities and limitations through comprehensive assessments.
- Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's needs and goals.
- Implement treatment programs that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and neuromuscular training to promote recovery.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about the rehabilitation process, prescribed exercises, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress in compliance with applicable medical and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current, valid state licensure to practice physical therapy.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and physical therapy principles and techniques.
- Experience in inpatient, outpatient, or orthopedic settings is preferred.
- Proficiency in developing effective, individualized care plans.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and professionalism in providing patient care.
