QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Thorough knowledge of advanced secretarial and office management practices and procedures;

Thorough knowledge of Board of Education operations, administrative procedures, and organizational practices within PGCPS;

Working knowledge of Board policies, quasi-judicial procedures, and the Maryland Open Meetings Act;
-
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google applications, and Board meeting management systems (i.e., Diligent);
-
Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and strict deadlines;
-
Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with Board members, staff, attorneys, stakeholders, and the public;
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters appropriately;
-
Ability to oversee, coordinate, and provide guidance to clerical and administrative support staff;
-
Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions and work independently with limited supervision;
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Board members, staff, and external stakeholders; and
-
Demonstrated ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, and meeting materials with a high degree of accuracy.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a standard high school diploma or GED required; Associates degree or higher preferred.? A minimum of six (6) years of experience providing administrative support required; experience in a public sector or school system environment preferred.
