Machinist
Location: Cypress, CA
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour (DOE)
Shift: 1st Shift – Four 10-hour shifts per week, starting at 7:00 AM
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machinist to join our Machine Shop team in Cypress, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with machining experience who enjoys working with precision equipment to manufacture high-quality parts. Training will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Select and prepare the correct materials for machining.
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment.
- Program and perform machine setups as needed.
- Machine precision parts according to specifications.
- Sharpen cutting tools, drill bits, and boring bars.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments and microscopes.
- Clean machined parts and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
- Handle cleaning materials and coolants safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous machining experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience operating manual machining equipment.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
- Ability to use microscopes to inspect small precision parts.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Experience machining small precision components is preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Basic math skills.

Work Environment
- Indoor manufacturing environment.
- Moderate noise level.
- Occasional exposure to machine oils, coolants, and cleaning solvents.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and respirators when required.
- Light lifting may be required.
- Frequent use of small hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and microscopes.
