Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during periodontal procedures such as scaling, root planing, and surgical interventions with precision and confidence.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients prior to procedures, maintaining thorough medical documentation throughout treatment.
- Educate patients on periodontal health, post-operative care, and proper oral hygiene practices to promote long-term oral wellness.
- Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with general administrative duties as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably with a focus on periodontics or general dentistry.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting best practices.
- Hands-on experience with chairside assisting during periodontal procedures and other specialty treatments such as prosthodontics or endodontics.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently.
