Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and clinical procedures will contribute to delivering top-tier care. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care.
- Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. This may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Maintain detailed medical records, including vaccination history, treatment plans, and procedural documentation.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and perform dental cleanings utilizing dental terminology knowledge.
- Monitor anesthesia and assist veterinarian with surgical patients.
- Handle laboratory specimens and perform basic diagnostic tests to support veterinary critical care cases.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to safety standards and infection control protocols.
Experience
- Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in animal care and clinical procedures.
- Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis is desirable.
- Dog and cat handling skills combined with animal restraint expertise to ensure safe interactions during examinations or treatments.
