Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and mobile payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and assisting with product demos when needed.
- Manage cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and balanced at the end of each shift.
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising efforts to ensure the store remains inviting and well-organized.
- Assist with inventory management by participating in stocking activities and conducting basic retail math to track product levels accurately.
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries via phone or online channels, ensuring clear communication at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience operating POS systems and cash registers in a retail or grocery environment.
- Strong supervising experience or ability to oversee team members during shifts when needed.
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, stock counts, and sales reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with bilingual capabilities preferred for serving diverse customers effectively.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette.
- Experience in upselling products and conducting product demos to enhance the shopping experience.
- Familiarity with cash drawer handling procedures, basic math skills, and retail sales transactions management.
