Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation appeal
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and dish preparation methods
- Handle food with proper safety and sanitation practices, adhering strictly to food safety management protocols
- Use knife skills and slicing techniques efficiently for food preparation, maintaining precision and safety at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold safety standards in production
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring timely service
- Follow all food handling procedures and safety standards during meal preparation and service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, with a focus on kitchen operations and food preparation
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques, including slicing, portioning, and plating
- Familiarity with food safety standards in production environments and food handling procedures
- Excellent knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations is highly desirable
