Position/Type: Teacher, full time
Qualifications:
- Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate for elementary self-contained classroom;
- Prior elementary teaching experience preferred;
LETRS training or willingness to obtain.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of elementary curriculum design and instructional strategies;
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of assessment procedures;
- Demonstrate knowledge of Individualized Reading Improvement Plans (IRIP);
- Understanding of the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS);
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with teaching staff and with other stakeholders by communicating both verbally and in writing;
- Willingness to participate in professional development in Science of Reading and explicit math instruction including math fact fluency;
- Ability to work with at-risk and special education students;
- Demonstrate effective classroom management skills;
- Plan, organize, and provide instruction to students individually, in small groups, and in whole group settings;
- Evaluate student progress and prepare reports that detail progress;
- Maintain appropriate records and lesson plans;
- Willingness to appropriately utilize, implement, and incorporate appropriate positive behavior support systems (PBIS);
- Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, be self-motivated, team-oriented and willing to work with students, parents, staff and community members.
All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Salary: Wages and benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Chesaning Union School District and Chesaning Education Association MEA/NEA
