The right person will understand demolition from both a field and estimating perspective. You should be comfortable reviewing drawings and site conditions, determining the equipment and manpower needed, developing production rates, getting vendor and subcontractor pricing, and identifying risks that could affect the cost or execution of a project.
You'll work closely with the Demolition Division Manager, Superintendents, and Foremen to make sure estimates are based on realistic production, equipment, sequencing, and means and methods. You'll also have a direct role in helping the division win quality work and improve project profitability.
- Evaluate bid opportunities to determine project scope, feasibility, risks, and potential profitability.
-
Conduct site visits and review drawings, specifications, environmental reports, scopes of work, and other project documents.
-
Develop detailed estimates for labor, equipment, materials, trucking, disposal, recycling, subcontractors, and other project costs.
-
Complete quantity takeoffs and establish realistic production rates, manpower requirements, equipment needs, sequencing, and means and methods.
-
Obtain and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, vendors, trucking companies, disposal facilities, and recycling facilities.
-
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, site conditions, and other risks that could affect project cost or execution.
-
Prepare accurate and competitive bids and proposals while maintaining appropriate project margins.
-
Work with the Demolition Division Manager, Superintendents, and Foremen to review and validate estimates, production assumptions, equipment needs, and proposed means and methods.
-
Participate in bid reviews, pre-bid meetings, site walks, and estimate turnover meetings as needed.
-
Review completed projects and compare estimated versus actual costs and production to improve future estimates.
-
Maintain current knowledge of labor, equipment, trucking, disposal, recycling, and subcontractor costs.
-
Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other industry partners.
-
Support the Demolition Division Manager in identifying potential projects and future work opportunities.
-
Maintain organized estimating records, takeoffs, quotes, assumptions, exclusions, and supporting documentation.
-
Manage multiple estimates and make sure bids are accurate and submitted by required deadlines.
-
Account for applicable safety, environmental, OSHA, customer, and site-specific requirements when developing estimates.
- 5+ years of experience in demolition, heavy construction, or a related industry.
-
Experience in demolition estimating or demolition field operations.
-
Strong understanding of demolition operations, sequencing, equipment, production, project logistics, and costs.
-
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents.
-
Experience estimating commercial, industrial, structural, or specialty demolition projects preferred.
-
Hands-on demolition experience preferred.
-
Knowledge of high-reach excavators, cranes, crushing, recycling, and specialty demolition equipment preferred.
-
Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Monday.com, or similar estimating/project management software.

Established relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, trucking companies, disposal facilities, or other industry partners are a plus.
-
Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
-
OSHA 30 certification required.
-
Valid driver's license required.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of the estimating process and have a direct impact on the work the Demolition Division pursues and wins.
