Duties
- Process all incoming invoices using various accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
- Verify invoice accuracy by matching purchase orders, receipts, and vendor statements; resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable transactions, maintaining double entry bookkeeping accuracy.
- Reconcile vendor statements and perform account reconciliations to ensure data integrity across the general ledger.
- Manage payment runs through platforms like Paychex, ADP, or Ceridian, ensuring timely disbursement of funds via checks or electronic transfers.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, supporting audit readiness and adherence to SOX compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Human Resources for benefits administration and payroll management using systems like UltiPro or Kronos.
Experience
- Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately with 10 key typing skills at a fast pace.
- Experience working with governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Excellent analysis skills for resolving discrepancies and performing account reconciliations efficiently.
