A Full-time Administrative Clerk position is available for Crawford County Friend of the Court. This individual is the front-line customer service representative for the Friend of the Court, Probate Court, and Family Division for answering telephone calls and directing walk-in public to the appropriate divisions of the Court. The primary duties involve Friend of the Court-related functions as described in the Administrative Clerk job description.
This position starts at $16.11-21.25 per hour and is 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, and includes a benefit package. This position falls under the union agreement between the Michigan Association of Public Employees (M.A.P.E.) and Crawford County Courts.

Job title: Administrative Clerk
Reports to: Friend of the Court Supervisor/Director
SUMMARY
Provides front-line customer service for FOC, Probate Court, and the Family Division. Also performs various clerical functions as assigned.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Answers telephone and screens callers, determines nature of inquiries, and directs callers to the appropriate locations. *
Provides case, hearing, payment, and procedural information to parties and attorneys in response to routine inquires. *
Operates a computer terminal to access and enter case information and to prepare forms and correspondence. *
Receives and logs over the counter and mailed payments for Friend of the Court. *
Picks-up and distributes Friend of the Court mail and posts outgoing mail. *
Review returned mail and list of bad addresses generated from the MiCSES system for FOC on a regular basis and follow through with appropriate locate efforts. *
Initiate location activities for FOC in all cases when necessary and appropriate with telephone, written communication, MiCSES system, Business Objects, CLEAR, internet tools, employers, relatives, postal verifications, DHHS, and other means available. *
Files case documentation in case files, prepares copies of orders for customers, and returns file to proper location. *
Monitors and replenishes forms supply by making copies from the master form. *
Establishes new case files, enters case information in the computer, including initial case filings, and mail initial FOC packets. *
Initiates/processes National Medical Support Notices to employers, researches and monitors gathered health care insurance information, and updates computer and file records accordingly. *
Communicate with clients, employers, and health care providers in writing and/or telephonically regarding NMSN process and objection procedures. *
Provide and explain to clients the 46th Circuit Court’s Health Care Policies for processing complaints for unreimbursed/extraordinary health care expenses. *
Assists in the preparation of hearing notices, stipulations, bench warrants, recommendations, and other legal documents. *
Assists in the preparation of bench warrants orders, warrant recalls, and reviews a bench warrant report monthly. *
Assist in working MiCSES reports for FOC. *
Assists in other areas of FOC as directed by the FOC Director.
Asist in all Crawford County Court Divisions when necessary to meet the needs of the Court.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Circuit Court Judge, presiding Judge, or Court Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduation or equivalent
Experience: Six months general office experience; some customer service experience preferred, and must be computer proficient.
Core Competencies: Position requires the ability to work independently and multitask. Be adaptable and detail-oriented; comprehend and apply statutes and court rules; and have the ability to operate automated systems to assist the court in managing information. The individual must possess a strong work ethic, professional demeanor, excellent verbal communication, and time management skills and adhere to the State and Federal regulations pertaining to confidentiality and security.
