Job Description
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the day to day operation of the Sterile Processing Department ensuring adequate supplies of sterile instruments are always available. Also will perform all aspects of cleaning and processing surgical instruments and specific medical devices per manufacturer's instructions and organizational standards. Must be able to understand medical terminology, operate and understand functions of complex equipment, utilize knowledge of basic microbiology, infection control identification of a variety of specialty surgical instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinates with user departments the processing and assembly of medical supplies, equipment and instrumentation.
Maintains adequate quantities of reprocessed supplies and equipment to meet patient care demands.
Evaluates products used in production or patient care as they pertain to the processing function or operations.
Demonstrates proficiency in the operation and maintenance of all departmental equipment.
Maintains records as required by department operation, department management or external agencies.
Maintains sterile and other medical supplies utilized in the operating room.
Schedules hours and assign duties to ensure efficient department operation.
Evaluates employee work performance and recommends personnel actions as necessary.
Establishes and maintains departmental quality control systems in accordance with institutional and departmental policy and regulatory agency
Inspects areas of responsibility on a regular basis so as to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, requirements and standards.

Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
1 year supervisory experience
The pay range for this position is $35.37 - $53.05. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
