We’re looking for a Folder Operator to join our Bindery team! In this role, you’ll prepare, set up, and operate folding equipment— MBO Folder machine—to convert flat sheets into finished signatures while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate the MBO Folder machine to produce accurate, high-quality folds.
- Read and interpret work orders to verify layout, imposition, and folding requirements.
- Inspect flat sheets prior to folding and monitor quality throughout production runs.
- Load sheets into the folder, stack finished products on pallets, and apply skid tickets and shrink-wrap.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues to maintain folding accuracy and minimize downtime.
- Record daily production counts in the AS400 system and maintain accurate documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; ensure guards are in place and equipment is lubricated.
- Support preventative maintenance by assisting maintenance staff and reporting equipment concerns.
- Assist with training new operators as assigned by the supervisor.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience operating folder equipment, preferably MBO folding machines.
- Ability to read work orders and use rulers, calculators, and measurement tools.
- Strong math skills, including fractions and percentages.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting ability.
- Familiarity with AS400 or similar production reporting systems.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious with strong communication skills.
