SECOR, a leading distributor of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe and McElroy Fusion Equipment, as well as a manufacturer of custom-fabricated fittings, is seeking a detailed-oriented Order Puller - Shipping to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable individual to join our shipping team. The Order Puller – Shipping position is responsible for assisting with packing, loading, and organizing shipments to ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
General Labor Responsibilities:
- Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
- Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
- Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads.
- Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
- Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
- Assemble product containers or crates, using hand tools and precut lumber.
- Prepare and pack orders according to shipping specifications.
- Load and unload trucks safely using proper equipment.
- Label and scan packages for inventory tracking.
- Move and organize stock within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Inspect shipments for accuracy and report discrepancies.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations.
- Pick and pack orders according to company standards.
- Prepare shipments by labeling, wrapping, and staging.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Forklift experience.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic math and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed.
Preferred Experience:
- Basic knowledge of shipping and inventory procedures (preferred).
- Previous warehouse or general labor experience is a plus but not required.
Work Conditions:
- May require standing for long periods and lifting moderate-weight materials.
- Work may take place in warehouses, production areas, or work yards.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) (hard hat, safety, glasses, shoes, vest, and gloves) is required.
- Fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the season.
- Physical, hands-on work environment.
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday (10-hour daily shift)
- Day shift
- Overtime and weekends as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
