Job Summary
The Stormwater Maintenance Foreperson performs field work while leading crews to successfully complete construction and maintenance projects. This role is responsible for managing daily operations at a single job site, coordinating with supervisors and project teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Supervisor or Project Manager.
- Indirectly reports to the Department Manager for job assignments, scheduling, and HR-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field crews to complete assigned construction and maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate daily site operations with the operator, supervisor, support personnel, and owner representatives.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
- Operate and oversee the safe use of equipment including track trucks, skid steers, mini excavators, and hand tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily job logs, photo logs, and required reports.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Verify utility mark-outs, identify potential conflicts, and ensure safe excavation procedures are followed.
- Order materials as needed and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and tracked.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and client representatives.
- Perform final site walkthroughs to confirm quality and completion of work.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to remote job sites.
- Ability to operate large on-road vehicles with trailers and meet DOT physical requirements.
- Ability to pass company driving tests and perform vehicle inspections (F450 with trailer)
- Experience operating construction equipment such as track trucks, skid steers, and mini excavators.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow project documents and instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a crew.
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey instructions clearly in English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy materials, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Work is primarily outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.
- Must be able to safely operate tools and equipment and maintain situational awareness.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to noise, dirt, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions.
- Travel to project sites and extended work hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required to meet deadlines.
Safety & Training
Employees must maintain required certifications and participate in company training, which may include:
- OSHA safety training
- Trench safety and confined space training
- First Aid and CPR
- Erosion & sediment control certifications
- Equipment operation and safety procedures

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $31.75 per hour
