Production Manager
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Position Summary
The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of craft personnel engaged in the fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal products, systems, and structures. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication, and the ability to manage workflow efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of sheet metal materials, fabrication methods, tools, equipment, shop mathematics, and industry best practices. The Shop Foreman serves as a key leader in ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of shop personnel.
- Plan, layout, fabricate, assemble, and repair sheet metal components and systems.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Estimate labor requirements and allocate resources to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor production schedules and workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to team members.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Coordinate with management and other departments to resolve production challenges and meet operational goals.
- Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and project progress.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication, construction, or a related trade.
- Prior experience supervising teams or managing field/shop personnel.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
