Guarino Funeral Home is seeking an experienced New York State licensed Funeral Director to join our dedicated team. This position is a key and essential role in serving our community, requiring a compassionate, professional, and adaptable individual who takes pride in supporting families during life’s most difficult moments.
This is a fast-paced environment, and the ideal candidate must be able to adapt quickly, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain calm, organized, and caring.
Position Overview
As a Funeral Director at Guarino Funeral Home, you will guide families from first call through final disposition while ensuring every aspect of care is handled with dignity and professionalism.
The role includes both family-facing responsibilities and core funeral service duties essential to daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for families, providing compassionate guidance and support
- Arrange and direct funeral, wake, and memorial services
- Preparing of the deceased in accordance with New York State regulations
- Manage multiple services and timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Complete all required New York State documentation accurately and timely
- Coordinate with clergy, cemeteries, crematories, and other service providers
- Represent Guarino Funeral Home professionally within the community
Qualifications
- Active New York State Funeral Director license
- 2–5 years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director
- Demonstrates a strong grasp of embalming techniques and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- A genuine, caring, people-first approach
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
