Job Summary
IEG is seeking a skilled and professional Over-the-Road Transport Driver to support the movement of developing and specialized trucks nationwide. Duties
- Safely transport developing or unfinished trucks on open flatbed, step deck, or RGN trailers
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor, trailer, securement devices, and cargo
- Properly load, position, chain, strap, and secure trucks according to DOT and company standards
- Safely load and unload vehicles using ramps, winches, or yard assistance as required
- Protect cargo from damage during transport, including use of padding, edge protectors, and proper tie-down techniques
- Verify shipping documents, bills of lading, and delivery instructions
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logs (ELDs) in compliance with FMCSA rules
- Communicate with dispatch regarding load status, delays, route conditions, and delivery timelines
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations, including weight limits and route requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites during pick-ups and deliveries
- Adapt to changing job-site and yard conditions, including uneven terrain and tight loading area.
Pay
- .60 per mile
- Addtional compensation for oversized loads.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions
- No SAP violations or restrictions
- Minimum 5 years OTR driving experience
- At least 3 years of open deck and RGN step deck experience
- Proven ability to secure and haul oversized or specialized loads
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission
- Clean driving record and strong safety history
- Must live within 3 hours of Houston, Texas
