Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a CDL Class B Driver and Warehouse Worker, where you'll play a vital role in delivering essential goods and maintaining efficient logistics operations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class B commercial truck, including tractor-trailers, tanker trucks, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), and hazardous materials regulations.
- Plan and navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper cargo handling techniques for logistics cargo handling and hazardous goods.
- Deliver freight accurately to designated locations while maintaining compliance with safety standards for dangerous goods and hazardous materials regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to verify vehicle safety, including checking for proper load securement, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and tires.
- Maintain detailed delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Assist warehouse operations by organizing inventory, managing freight loads, and supporting warehouse tasks such as truck loading/unloading and inventory control.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on delivery driving within various environments including refrigerated transport, flatbed hauling, or tanker operations.
- Familiarity with route driving using GPS navigation systems on manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures including load & unload processes for freight of varying types such as freight containers or hazardous materials.
- Experience operating equipment like forklifts or dump trucks is a plus but not required; training can be provided.
- Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods transportation.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely while adhering to safety standards for manual handling tasks.
- Excellent driving record demonstrating safe operation of commercial vehicles over the road (OTR) routes or local deliveries.
