Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
- Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and accounting standards.
- Prepare journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping entries, and financial reports to support client needs.
- Conduct payroll processing, manage debits & credits, and oversee account reconciliation tasks with precision.
- Utilize spreadsheets for budgeting, financial report writing, and detailed account analysis to support client reporting requirements.
- Communicate proactively with clients to clarify financial data, resolve discrepancies, and provide insights on account status.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in public accounting or non-profit accounting environments.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and account analysis.
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entry posting accurately.
- Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or similar), including budgeting and financial report writing.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and financial concepts related to corporate or non-profit organizations.
- High level of accuracy in 10 key typing tasks combined with strong organizational skills for handling multiple accounts simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to maintain positive client relations while explaining complex financial data clearly.
