Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns to accurately document service requests.
- Clearly explain recommended repairs and maintenance options, including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension, alignments, and diesel engine repairs.
- Prepare detailed auto estimates using automotive diagnostics knowledge and auto estimating tools.
- Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Upsell additional services such as shocks & struts, air brake systems, wheel alignments, or auto body repairs by highlighting benefits that meet customer needs.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining a professional attitude during all customer interactions.
- Maintain organized records of service orders, customer communications, and repair histories to support efficient workflow and quality assurance.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience in automotive service management or as a service technician.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience preferred; familiarity with automotive diagnostics is essential.
- Experience in auto estimating, sales, and upselling techniques to enhance revenue opportunities.
- Knowledge of various vehicle systems including transmissions, oil changes, tire service, suspension components, brakes, diesel engines, shocks & struts, and alignment procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Prior experience handling cash transactions confidently while maintaining accuracy.
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes across different vehicle types including light-duty trucks and diesel engines is a plus.
