Overview
The General Manager, acting under the direction of the Board of Directors and its President, manages a gated community with over 1200 single-family homes, 1500 acres of land, 277 acres of water with a dam, a pool, and multiple recreational amenities. The GM is responsible for overseeing maintenance, security, administration, and recreation departments. A successful candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of community management practices, budget management, project management, long-term planning, personnel growth and development, contract oversight, and safety practices.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Five to eight years of on-site management experience; Community Association management preferred
- An educational background that includes public or recreational administration, or business administration, at the graduate or undergraduate level will be considered
- Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) or Large Scale Manager (LSM) a plus
Required Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in budget development, management, and oversight
- Experience managing multiple departments and multi-disciplinary staff
- Strong customer service skills and ability to handle resident concerns and complaints professionally, objectively, and tactfully
- A commitment to interact effectively with diverse groups of members, staff, vendors, local and state officials, and other entities
- Knowledge of basic association governing documents, Bylaws, and Articles of Incorporation with ability to understand and implement said guidelines
- Knowledge of accepted management practices and procedures
- Knowledge of effective grounds, infrastructure maintenance, and risk management
- A valid state-issued driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check, DMV check, and drug test prior to hire
