Job Summary

Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and behavioral health strategies.
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Document patient information meticulously within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system; ensure all records are complete and up-to-date.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment.
- Engage in ongoing training related to geriatrics, pediatric care, hospital medicine, or behavioral health to enhance your caregiving skills across diverse clinical settings.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a CNA or in a similar caregiving role within long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or home health agencies is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience providing specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or behavioral health needs is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy principles, and physiology relevant to patient care across various age groups including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices; physical stamina for long shifts involving manual handling tasks.
- Strong communication skills for caregiver interactions with patients’ families and healthcare teams; commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.25 per hour
