Senior Accountant
Location: Eden Prairie
Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days in office per week
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000/year
Position Summary
Our client, a publicly traded global manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Accounting Contractor who can quickly step into a Senior Accountant-level role with minimal ramp-up time. This individual will support critical accounting and financial reporting activities, including month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls, audit support, and financial analysis.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical accounting foundation, prior public accounting experience, and experience supporting public company reporting requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, complex business environment and can operate independently while partnering across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities

Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including preparation and review of:

Journal entries
-
Accruals
-
Account reconciliations
-
Variance analyses
-
Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items and compliance with accounting policies.

Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements in a public-company environment.

Partner with finance, operations, supply chain, and business teams to understand manufacturing activity, inventory movements, and business performance.

Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, tie-outs, and responding to auditor requests.

Assist with SOX compliance and internal control activities, including documentation, testing support, and evidence preparation.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies.

Participate in special projects, technical accounting analyses, and ad hoc financial reporting requests.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Experience working within or supporting a public company environment.

Strong understanding of:

U.S. GAAP

Financial reporting

Internal controls

Account reconciliations

Month-end close processes

Advanced Excel skills required.
Preferred Experience

Manufacturing or industrial industry experience.

Inventory accounting and cost accounting knowledge.

SAP experience.

Global or multi-national company exposure.

Experience supporting SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
