About the Role
We are looking to hire several reliable PCAs to build a supportive care team for a 47-year-old female with Cerebral Palsy. By hiring multiple assistants, we aim to ensure a sustainable schedule, seamless backup coverage, and a collaborative working environment.
- Mobility Support: Client utilizes a Sit-to-Stand device for transfers and uses both electric and manual wheelchairs.
- Transportation: A valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation are required. You will drive the client's accessible van to transport her to medical appointments and to run errands. Training on the van and transfer equipment will be provided.
Weekly Schedule & Shifts
We are hiring for multiple positions (including primary and backup care roles) to collaboratively cover our care schedule.
While we have great flexibility in assigning specific days of the week to each person, the duration and timing of the shifts themselves are strictly fixed and cannot be changed.
Our most urgent, primary coverage need is for the Night Shift (5:30 PM – 8:30 PM).
Standard Shift Times:
- Morning Shift: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Night Shift: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Primary Need)
Schedule Coverage Required:
- Monday through Friday:
- Morning Shift: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Night Shift: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM (High Priority)
- Alternating Weekends (Saturday & Sunday):
- Morning Shift: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Night Shift: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM (High Priority)
Note on Scheduling Flexibility: Since we are building a multi-person team, we can assign regular weekly days based on your personal availability (for example, choosing to work only certain weeknights or alternating weekends). However, the hours for those shifts must remain exactly as listed above.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist with daily tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Mobility & Transfers: Assist with transfers using a Sit-to-Stand device and mobility aids.
- Medication Support: Provide regular medication reminders and assistance.
- Meal Prep: Plan, cook, and prepare nutritious meals.
- Housework: Perform light housekeeping tasks (tidying up, laundry, cleaning) during scheduled shifts.
- Community Access: Accompany the client to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Companionship: Provide meaningful companionship and emotional support.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Languages: Bilingual Spanish – English (Required)
- Transportation: Valid driver's license and a reliable personal car (Required)
- Experience: Prior experience working with elderly or disabled individuals (Required)
- Skills:
- Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow exact care instructions and work independently.
- Physical stamina required for transfers and client mobility.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR (Preferred, but not required).
