Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Field Service Technician to support window and door operations in new residential construction. This role includes pre-installation inspections, post-installation service, troubleshooting, and ongoing quality control to ensure all products meet company and builder standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable using tools and technology, and able to work independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inspections of window and door openings at various stages of construction
- Verify measurements and ensure openings are plumb, level, and square and meet required specifications
- Perform pre-installation (rough opening) and post-installation inspections
- Complete on-site service work, including adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting of installed windows and doors
- Diagnose issues and recommend or implement corrective actions
- Identify and report defects or deviations from company, manufacturer, and builder standards
- Transition between quality control inspections and field service work as needed; travel and multi-day site visits may be required
- Utilize company-provided apps and technology to document inspections, upload photos, and complete detailed reports (accuracy and organization are critical)
- Maintain clear, thorough, and timely records of all field activities
- Communicate effectively with builders, project managers, homeowners, and internal teams regarding job status, scheduling, and issue resolution
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and installers to resolve quality issues and improve processes
- Assist in developing and improving installation and quality control procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, job site requirements, and industry standards
- Participate in final walk-throughs to ensure quality standards and customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Experience with window and door installation, service, or inspection preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of residential construction practices preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand construction tolerances
- Comfortable using power tools, hand tools, and job site equipment
- Ability to safely work on ladders and scaffolding
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and apps for reporting and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work with customers and team members
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to speak English; bilingual is a plus
