Job Title: Direct Care Worker (DCW)
Reports To: Home Manager or Home Provider
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities includes the follow. Please note other task or duties may be assigned as needed.
1. Report to work on days scheduled to work on time and ready to work
2. Arrive to work in the proper uniform; Navy Blue Scrubs (appropriately sized; no holes, no stains); no hats, scarves, bonnets etc. and a closed in gym shoe or nursing shoe)
3. Communicate to whomever you are relieving of any situations, or elopement, hospitalizations etc.
4. Familiarize themselves with the residents IPOS (located in the turquois binder) and progress notes (located in white binder)
5. Able to assist resident with specific task explained in their IPOS/ Progress Notes/Behavior Plans when needed
6. Administer morning medication (if directed to do so before 7am) medication as prescribed by physician and instructed in the medication book and medication bubble packs
7. Use skills learned in WELLE training to de-escalate situations; prevent re-traumatization; and gain control
8. Complete daily Progress Notes: document all task worked on with residents; document all refusals; make sure all minutes add up, and Progress Notes are complete.
9. List any food/personal items/ cleaning supplies that are low or missing on the refrigerator note pad;
10. Check iPad for residents that have appointments; make sure residents clothing I laid out for next day
11. Use “reminder” checklist to complete nightly task; check items off when completed
12. Bathroom: Clean toilet, sink, faucets, tub, mirror; sweep and mop bathroom daily
13. Kitchen: Wash dishes/dry & put away, sweep/mop, wipe appliances, backsplash daily; take trash out; clean stove, clean interior and exterior of microwave
14. Clean interior and exterior of refrigerator
15. Sweep/mop hallway, stairway, game room, basement
16. Monitor resident’s while sleeping to ensure health and safety
17. Remove snow form steps for safety
18. Complete other duties as assigned
