Description:
Main duties include offering basic physical assistance to patients, feeding patients according to their dietary needs and recording vital signs.

Assists with patient admission, transfer, discharge procedures

Records vital signs on the computer: temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, intake/output

Administers complete patient hygiene; promptly responds to call lights; makes routine rounds throughout the shift.

Reports pertinent changes in the condition of a patient to the Registered Nurse.

Provides patient safety through preventive measures (side rails, checking arm bands, reporting any hazards to the RN).

Adheres to universal precautions, infection control, and isolation procedures.

Assists patients with ambulating/transferring, and transports patients.

Maintains patient rooms, nursing unit, and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner

Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Education/Experience:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
-
CPR certification
Preferred:
-
Successful completion of a nursing assistant course/training or currently enrolled in a nursing program with completion of a semester of clinicals preferred

Prior experience in a healthcare facility/setting preferred

Adaptability to function efficiently within a multi-tasking environment
Physical Requirements:

Work may routinely be of heavy demand.
- Routine lifting requirements over 50 pounds.
- Stands and walks for most of the shift.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting, bending, and reaching required.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases.
- Works inside.
