Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, and shipping operations for a growing international manufacturing company. This role is responsible for leading production staff, maintaining high product quality standards, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across operations.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience in quality-driven manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Supervise and participate in daily manufacturing and assembly operations
- Assign work, prioritize production schedules, and ensure on-time completion of orders
- Train, coach, and support production employees to meet quality and productivity standards
- Review job orders, drawings, specifications, and work instructions prior to production
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
Product Quality Management & Inspection
- Ensure products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications
- Perform in-process and final inspections using measurement and inspection tools
- Identify nonconforming products and coordinate corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and documentation
- Promote a strong culture of quality and accountability on the production floor
- Support Engineering and Management with root cause analysis of quality or production issues
- Assist with process improvements by applying manufacturing, tooling, and material knowledge
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and waste
- Communicate technical findings and improvement recommendations clearly
ISO 9001 Compliance
- Support and maintain ISO 9001 quality management system requirements
- Ensure production processes follow documented procedures and work instructions
- Assist with internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain compliance with company quality policies and objectives
Facilities & Equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing and warehouse environment
- Ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained and operational
- Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance as needed
- Enforce safety policies and regulatory compliance
Inventory Control
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate material tracking
- Manage and store raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
- Maintain confidentiality of supplier and subcontractor information
Shipping & Receiving
- Oversee packing, shipping, and receiving of domestic and international orders
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation and carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, LTL)
- Ensure shipments meet customer and regulatory requirements
Leadership & Supervision
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of production staff
- Motivate and lead team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Customer & Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Management to meet customer requirements
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries related to production and quality
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude required
- Experience with quality inspections and measurement tools
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards preferred
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office required
Education
- College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
