Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations using systems like OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Take accurate orders from guests via in-person communication or phone etiquette, ensuring clarity and attentiveness.
- Deliver food and beverages efficiently from the kitchen to tables, maintaining proper food handling and safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as plating or basic meal assembly when needed.
- Clear tables promptly by bussing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and resetting for new guests to ensure a tidy environment.
- Support kitchen staff with dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness in food prep areas.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS, including cashiering duties when required.
- Maintain excellent guest relations through attentive service, communication skills, and proactive assistance.
- Support catering events or special functions by helping with setup, serving, or breakdown as directed.
- Uphold food safety standards and proper sanitation practices throughout all duties.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with guests and team members.
- Basic math skills for order taking, cash handling, and POS transactions.
- Knowledge of food handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting trays or bussing tables.
- Experience with restaurant technology platforms such as OpenTable or Aloha POS is a plus.
- Familiarity with beverage preparation, dishwashing, knife skills, or meat cutting is advantageous but not required.
- A friendly demeanor combined with excellent phone etiquette and guest service orientation ensures success in this role.
