Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM. Occasional weekend or early-morning work when special events are scheduled at the memorial.
Compensation: $26.68/hour + $5.09/hour Health & Welfare (H&W) benefit (Service Contract Act position; paid vacation and paid federal holidays per the applicable wage determination). Overtime eligible.

About the Job
Lean Synergy Solutions is hiring a full-time Facilities and Grounds Technician to help maintain the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial, a four-acre national memorial park at the base of Capitol Hill honoring President and General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
You'll be one of only two on-site team members responsible for keeping this nationally significant landmark in exceptional condition for millions of annual visitors. This is hands-on outdoor work at one of the most visible locations in the country, where you'll take pride in preserving a place of honor and reflection.
What You'll Do
Grounds & Site Appearance (Daily)
- Patrol the entire site multiple times daily for litter and debris.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to the National Park Service disposal site.
- Blow off plazas, sidewalks, and hardscape areas every morning before 8:00 AM.
- Collect visitor mementos left at the memorial.
- Remove stickers, gum (using approved plastic scrapers), weeds, and other debris from pavers and walkways.
- Report graffiti or vandalism with photographs the same day and clean approved areas.
- Clean, stock, and inspect public restrooms daily, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and drinking fountains.
Landscaping
- Mow turf areas using zero-turn and push mowers to National Park Service standards.
- Trim and edge turf every two weeks.
- Remove grass clippings and maintain a clean appearance.
- Weed planting beds, refresh mulch, and remove leaves seasonally.
- Assist with irrigation inspections, seasonal startup/winterization, and turf protection during special events.
- Facilities & Systems Support
- Perform daily lighting inspections throughout the memorial and assist with replacing failed lamps and fixtures.
- Support the Site Lead with preventive maintenance on pumps, HVAC equipment, and underground mechanical systems.
- Polish metal surfaces.
- Spot-clean bronze sculptures using approved methods (warm water and soft cloth).
- Assist with approved cleaning of stone surfaces.
- Document completed work with photographs for required government reports.
What You Need
- 2+ years of grounds maintenance, landscaping, janitorial/facilities, or building maintenance experience (military facilities or engineering experience fully qualifies).
- Experience operating commercial mowing and landscaping equipment (zero-turn mower experience preferred).
- Ability to successfully pass a federal criminal background investigation and obtain a government-issued Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card.
- Reliable attendance with a consistent 7:00 AM start time.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or early mornings for special events.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the workday.
- Professional, respectful demeanor while working around memorial visitors.
- Valid driver's license.

Experience with:
- Small-engine maintenance
- Basic plumbing
- Basic electrical work
- Irrigation systems
- Custodial certifications
