Automotive Service Writer / Service Advisor

Advanced Auto Care & Smog Inc. is looking for a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer / Service Advisor to join our growing team.
We are a family-owned automotive repair shop that has served the Ventura community for more than 25 years. We recently expanded and doubled the size of our facility, and we are looking for dependable team members who want to grow with us.
Responsibilities
The Service Writer / Advisor will be responsible for assisting customers and helping coordinate the daily workflow of the shop. Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting customers at the front desk
- Answering phones and handling customer inquiries
- Scheduling service appointments and repair jobs
- Writing repair estimates, work orders, and invoices
- Explaining recommended repairs and services to customers
- Providing excellent customer service throughout the repair process
- Communicating with technicians regarding vehicle repairs and job status
- Ordering automotive parts and coordinating with vendors
- Selling tires, automotive parts, and related services
- Processing customer payments and cashier duties
- Performing general office and administrative work
- Maintaining an organized and efficient front office
- Handling a fast-paced environment with a high volume of customers
Experience
Prior experience in the automotive industry is strongly preferred, including experience as a:
- Service Writer or Service Advisor
- Dealership Service Advisor
- Automotive or tire shop employee
- Automotive parts store employee
- Automotive parts salesperson
Candidates with strong automotive knowledge and customer service experience are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications & Skills
- Basic automotive and vehicle knowledge is required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable communicating with 40+ customers throughout a busy day
- Ability to confidently explain automotive services and repair recommendations
- Basic computer and office skills
- Dependable, professional, and motivated
- Tire knowledge, including brands, sizing, and fitment, is beneficial but not required
- Familiarity with Mitchell 1 / Manager, ALLDATA, Identifix, automotive labor guides, estimating software, or automotive invoicing programs is a plus

Compensation
Compensation will be determined based on the applicant's experience, automotive knowledge, abilities, and level of expertise.
Requirements
· Fluent in both English and Spanish is required
· Must be able to communicate professionally with customers in both English and Spanish, in person and over the phone

We are willing to provide additional training and education for motivated employees who want to improve their automotive knowledge and advance within the company.
Schedule
Part-time or full-time positions available.
Flexible scheduling may be available depending on the position and applicant.
