Job Title: Plumber
Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Plumber, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of plumbing systems within an apartment complex. You will be tasked with performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs to maintain the plumbing infrastructure at optimal functionality. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential issues.
- Implement preventive maintenance measures to extend the life of plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Diagnosis and Repairs:
- Respond to service requests promptly and diagnose plumbing problems.
- Perform repairs on pipes, fixtures, fittings, and other plumbing components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as leaks, clogs, and faulty equipment.
- Installation and Upgrades:
- Install new plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances as needed.
- Upgrade existing plumbing components to meet modern efficiency and safety standards.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs and replacements.
- Provide reports on the condition of plumbing systems to management.
- Emergency Response:
- Be available for emergency on-call duty to address urgent plumbing issues.
- Implement effective solutions to minimize damage and restore functionality during emergencies.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other maintenance professionals, contractors, and vendors as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with property managers and residents regarding maintenance activities.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and updates in plumbing technology.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with residents or occupants professionally and courteously.
- Communicate clearly about maintenance schedules, repairs, and preventive measures.
- Safety:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance plumber or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, pipes, fixtures, and equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with plumbing issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment.
Education and Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience with plumbing in a residential apartment complex
- Plumbing license preferred, but will accept proven record of experience
- High school diploma or GED
Licenses and certifications:
- Licensed plumber preferred, however will consider proven experience and knowledge
Hours of Operation and Benefits:
- Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, 1 hour unpaid break, with occasional overtime and on call duties

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
