Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders among diverse patient populations, with a special emphasis on pediatrics and early intervention. Your expertise will help improve quality of life for our residents through personalized therapy plans and patient-centered care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each patient’s needs, focusing on pediatrics and early intervention strategies.
- Provide evidence-based speech therapy interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and caregivers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about speech therapy goals, techniques, and exercises to support ongoing progress at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology practices by participating in ongoing professional development.
Experience
- Prior school or pediatric experience is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with early intervention programs.
- Proven ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments using medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Experience working with diverse populations in medical or educational settings is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of physiology related to speech and swallowing functions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology is essential for effective communication within healthcare teams.
