Position Overview
We are seeking a highly specialized AI Policy Analyst to serve as our primary expert on United States AI governance. In this role, you will actively monitor, dissect, and analyze the rapidly evolving US federal and state AI regulatory landscape. Your primary objective will be to synthesize complex legislative changes into actionable, high-impact policy briefs and strategic reports that guide our clients through the complexities of AI compliance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
· Regulatory Monitoring: Actively track and analyze the latest US federal policies, executive orders, congressional hearings, and state-level legislation regarding artificial intelligence.
· Report Generation: Draft comprehensive policy briefs, whitepapers, and predictive analysis reports detailing how emerging regulations impact various commercial sectors.
· Strategic Advisory: Translate dense legal and regulatory frameworks into clear, actionable business intelligence for internal consulting teams and external clients.
· Framework Alignment: Evaluate client practices against major US standards (e.g., NIST AI Risk Management Framework, FTC enforcement actions, and agency-specific rules).
Required Qualifications
· Direct Sector Experience: Minimum of1 year of experience working directly within a US federal agency (such as the FTC, NIST, NTIA, DHS, or DOD) or a top-tier regulatory body focused on technology and AI governance.
· Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience drafting formal policy memos, regulatory comments, or government reports regarding AI, machine learning, or data privacy.
· Deep Subject Matter Expertise: Thorough understanding of current US federal AI directives, emerging legislative efforts, and the jurisdictional boundaries of different federal agencies.
· Elite Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to explain highly technical AI concepts to non-technical, executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced degree (Master’s, MPP, or J.D.) in Public Policy, Law, Technology Policy, or Data Science.
· Existing network within the Washington, D.C. tech policy ecosystem or federal regulatory agencies.
· Basic technical literacy regarding machine learning models, algorithmic bias, and data pipelines.

Pay: $50,313.71 - $66,721.89 per year
