Job Title: Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and promoting a proactive safety culture on mission-critical data center construction projects. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, client-specific safety requirements, and company policies while partnering with project teams and subcontractors to identify risks, prevent incidents, and maintain a safe, productive work environment. The Safety Manager serves as a trusted resource on-site, driving continuous improvement in safety performance throughout all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce project-specific Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs for mission-critical data center construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Lead daily pre-task planning meetings, toolbox talks, safety orientations, and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors.
- Partner with project management, trade partners, and client representatives to maintain a proactive safety culture and ensure safe execution of all work activities.
- Monitor high-risk work including energized work, crane operations, rigging, confined space entry, fall protection, and other critical construction activities.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety observations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records, inspections, training documentation, incident reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety performance and support project safety goals.
Requirements:
- Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Corpus Christi, TX area.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of construction safety experience, with experience on mission-critical, industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction projects preferred.
- Experience working on data center construction projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety best practices, and subcontractor safety management.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with project teams, contractors, and client representatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or extended shifts, to support project schedules.
