CEI Constructors is currently looking for experienced traffic control flaggers. The traffic control flagger is accountable for the controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects, discusses traffic routing plans, and type and location of control points with superior. May also give hand marker to last driver in line up of one-way traffic for flagger at opposite end of site, signaling clearance for reverse flow of traffic.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Review traffic control plans and coordinate work activities with supervisors.
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices in accordance with approved plans.
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through and around work zones using approved traffic control methods.
- Monitor work zones for hazards and alert workers and supervisors to unsafe conditions.
- Communicate detour routes and traffic restrictions to the public as needed.
- Document traffic control violations and incidents when required.
- Participate in Pre-Task Planning meetings, Stretch and Bend, Toolbox Talks, and other safety activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver license and clean MVR.
- Valid Traffic Control Flagger Certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and a background check.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Must have the ability to travel to jobsites in Denver and surrounding areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with team members inside and out of the organization.

- Frequently perform repetitive hand and wrist movements while handling traffic control devices, equipment, and documentation.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb while setting, adjusting, and inspecting traffic control devices.
- Frequently work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally navigate uneven terrain, roadways, embankments, and active construction sites.
- Occasionally enter and exit company vehicles and travel between project locations.
- Rarely sit for extended periods while completing administrative tasks, reports, or project documentation.
- Continuously maintain awareness of moving vehicles, heavy equipment, and changing traffic conditions to ensure work zone safety.
Work Environment
This position primarily works outdoors in roadway and construction site environments with exposure to moving traffic, heavy equipment, varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and other conditions common to heavy civil construction projects. Work may require extended hours, nights, weekends, and travel between project locations. Limited office work is required for planning, documentation, and coordination activities.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
