East Greenwich Public Schools is seeking to hire a School Psychologist on a part-time basis.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a qualified member of various school teams, including but not limited to the evaluation team, 504, and MTSS/RTI, that support the teaching and learning of all members in the school. Provide expertise in the areas of emotional health and well-being, social-emotional learning, and behavior to improve students success academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provide diagnostic services in the areas of cognitive ability, personality, executive functioning, and adaptive behavior to students with suspected special educational needs, including a wide variety of standardized measures, observations, data collection and organization, and in-depth functional behavior assessments.2. Serve as a member of various school teams, including crisis response, evaluation, MTSS/RTI, and Section 504 accommodation plans.
3. Actively seek novel and consistent ways to engage students, build rapport and positive relationships with all students. 4. Assess and develop comprehensive psychological evaluations.
Report and interpret student test data and observations to assist the IEP team in identifying potential disabilities and determining special education eligibility, need for specially designed instruction, and accommodations to increase access to general education.5. Provide direct individual and group counseling services to students who are experiencing academic, social-emotional, or behavioral regulation challenges.6.Collaborate/consult with individual teachers and related service providers regarding social-emotional competencies and interventions, learning, and behavioral concerns regarding all students.7. Consult with families, caregivers, and outside agencies as needed to assist in informing assessment of students, recommendations for home/school collaboration, and school-to-home carry-over of social-emotional competencies to benefit the achievement of all students. 8.
Assist and support the school community to foster practices of PBIS, de-escalation and crisis management, development and review of behavior intervention plans, and assist in establishing classroom-based behavior management systems to support the academic and social-emotional learning of all students.9. Serve as a consultant to the MTSS/RTI Team to provide and design evidence-based tiered supports and progress monitoring systems for students in need.10. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
