Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing team at Renew Dermatology. The ideal candidate will provide excellent patient care while supporting providers in a fast-paced dermatology practice. This role is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations, assisting with patient procedures, and creating a positive patient experience. Candidates should be willing to cross-train with front desk responsibilities to help support overall clinic workflow and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Room patients and accurately obtain/document vital signs and medical history
- Prepare and assist with dermatologic procedures including biopsies, excisions, and injections
- Administer medications and document appropriately in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Assist with prior authorizations, prescription refills, and patient communication
- Perform basic laboratory tasks and specimen handling as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas
- Cross-train and assist with front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, checking patients in/out, and collecting payments
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
Requirements
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
- Dermatology experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and patient service abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Willingness to cross-train in both clinical and front office duties
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
