The LaFetra College of Education (LFCE) at the University of La Verne invites applications for a 50%, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Instructor in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Human Development. We are seeking a collaborative and equity-minded instructor to teach graduate- and doctoral-level courses across programs in the department. The ideal candidate will bring a commitment to excellence in teaching, strong content expertise, and the ability to support practice-connected, cohort-based learning for working professionals.

Position Summary
This 50% faculty role includes teaching, advising, and program support. The Instructor will contribute to coursework in areas such as leadership, human development, organizational change, and applied research, depending on expertise.
The role may also include meaningful support for leadership preparation and credentialing programs, including work connected to fieldwork, performance assessment, and program alignment with accreditation standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach graduate and/or doctoral courses.
- Support practice-based learning experiences and applied leadership development.
- Engage in course development and curricular revision to ensure alignment with state guidelines, research-informed practices, and student needs.
- Collaborate with faculty on program design, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Advise and support graduate students in alignment with program expectations.
- Participate in program, department, and college meetings and contribute to shared governance and collaborative academic culture.
- Additional responsibilities may include (based on program needs and candidate expertise):
- Supporting leadership preparation programs, including the PASC program.
- Providing guidance to candidates on performance-based assessments such as CalAPA.
- Supporting fieldwork experiences and partnerships with school or organizational sites.
- Supporting program alignment with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) standards.
- Contributing to accreditation-related activities, including documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
- Collaborating on program coordination, accreditation, or leadership tasks as needed.
