Duties
- Safely operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using electric order pickers and other equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory movement by loading and unloading shipments, organizing stock in designated areas, and maintaining accurate records within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on heavy equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with warehouse supervisors to optimize space utilization and workflow.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and company policies during all materials handling activities to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic repair skills for equipment maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and handle materials safely using pallet jacks or other tools.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes, inventory control, and warehouse distribution operations.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations.
- Warehouse experience including order picker operation and general materials handling is highly preferred.
