Overview: The Packaging Manager is responsible for overseeing the Packaging Department and effectively producing
the client end product. The Packaging Manager leads, manages and holds the Packaging Technicians accountable in
executing the daily shift duties to package cans and kegs in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:
Primary Tasks
● Execute packaging operations to achieve defined company goals for Safety, Quality, Volume, Cost efficiency,
Team Development and Environmental stewardship
● Manage and instruct work-flow for Packaging Technicians
● Develop, document, maintain and audit Packaging Processes including SOP’s, work instructions, material waste,
finished counts, equipment cleanliness and operator training and execution
○ Assist with documenting, maintaining and auditing Quality processes that are encompassed in the
Packaging processes
● Manage, verify, audit and update all packaging documentation
○ Ensure accuracy and completeness of all daily packaging shift reports and production counts

○ Review and audit batch records as concerns are raised
○ Ensure all daily/monthly cleanings are completed and logged per SOP
● Work with fellow department managers to reach company growth and financial goals
● Contribute to traceability of finished goods produced
● Learn how to perform packaging processes: Labeling, keg washing, carton/tray forming, carton/case packing and
stacking on pallets, de-palletizer, quality checks for leaks, change-overs, and filling & seaming
● Monitor the scheduled production volume and available labor hours to flag any discrepancies to complete the
schedule with the Director of Operations
● Elevate any unsolved issues immediately to the Director of Operations to minimize any downtime or safety
concerns
● Drive EOS, cGMP and 5S initiatives in the facility
● Represent Packaging Department’s concerns and needs
● Communicate and update daily/weekly packaging schedule to the packaging techs to reach deadlines
● Express production PdO’s in Orchestrated Beer MRP
● Create Efficiency Reports for all batches
● Encourage packaging technicians to identify, initiate, develop and implement continuous improvement projects
such as production waste, labor efficiency, schedule adherence and equipment care and hygiene.
● Oversee Training Program for packaging technicians by maintaining, auditing and updating program as necessary
○ Maintain high level of understanding of daily operational tasks to conduct Orientation Training as needed
to allow other packaging technicians to focus on production needs
● Cover breaks and shift duties as needed for absent Packaging Techs
● Operate forklift as needed after completed SGBC certification
● Complete all training on Policies and Procedures as requested by HR and the Leadership Team
Financial Tasks
● Oversee packaging department budget and staff requirements
● Make capital improvement recommendations for packaging department with a well thought out proposal
Managing and Employee Development Tasks
● Set department goals that are in alignment with Company Plan and Goals
● Develop, maintain and audit packaging department’s key performance metrics for scorecard
● Lead daily, weekly, and monthly packaging meetings to discuss immediate production needs, problem-solving and
strategic planning.
● Lead, manage and hold Packaging Techs accountable for completing their work tasks
● Develop Packaging Tech training and growth plan with each technician
○ Conduct frequent 1:1 conversations with Packaging Techs to help them understand what they’re doing
well and what areas they could improve
○ Complete quarterly review conversations to determine quarterly goals for each technician
○ Ensure all training is completed and documented in a timely manner
○ Drive skills development and process education
○ Submit documentation to HR for employee personnel files
● Make compensation increase recommendations to the Director of Operations
● Verify timecard information to be mindful of OT use and preparing for bi-weekly payroll needs
● Recruit new personnel as needed with the help of HR
● Interview and hire as needed
● Able to make difficult decisions to ensure your team has the Right Person in the Right Seat
Physical Demands of the Job:
● Stand for the duration of the shift - up to 10-12 hours on occasion
● Required to frequently walk throughout production space
● Repeated bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, turning movements
● Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
● Maneuver up to 165 lbs with assistance
● Maintain or regain balance consistently

● Use of hands and arms to load materials into machines repeatedly
● Ability to communicate and understand instructions (typically speaking in fast-paced environment)
● Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and adjusting focus

Qualifications:
● Minimum age of 21
● High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Industry related education/training prefer

● Operator experience on a high speed can filler packaging line
● Management experience of a team working a packaging line, high-speed can filler and automated keg line
● cGMP manufacturing knowledge or willingness to learn
● Ability to participate effectively in a team environment and to communicate cross functionally verbally and in
writing
● Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and multitasking skills
Compensation:
● $57,500-75,0000, based on experience

Pay: $57,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year
