About the Role
FS8 North Gulch is seeking a Head Trainer / Director of Athletics & Performance / Studio Operations & Development Lead to oversee the delivery of the FS8 experience within the studio. You'll champion exceptional coaching, ensuring every class is delivered to the highest standard and aligned with FS8's signature methodology. You'll lead and develop a team of instructors through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management while partnering closely with the Studio Manager to drive studio performance and achieve key business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Trainer Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, audition, onboard, and develop instructors who embody the FS8 culture and coaching standards.
- Partner with Studio Ownership and the Studio Manager to build and maintain a high-performing coaching team.
- Conduct trainer evaluations using the FS8 feedback framework and create clear development plans.
- Mentor instructors through class observations, coaching, and continuing education.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable team culture centered around learning and excellence.
Program Delivery & Coaching Excellence
- Ensure the consistent delivery of the FS8 program and uphold brand standards across every class.
- Teach the required number of weekly classes while serving as a role model for coaching excellence.
- Stay current with programming updates, educational initiatives, and athletic launches.
- Support new trainer scheduling and guide instructors as they transition onto the teaching roster.
- Deliver exceptional coaching through effective cueing, exercise progressions, regressions, and a strong focus on member safety.
Studio Leadership
- Partner with the Studio Manager to support studio performance and key business objectives.
- Contribute to studio KPIs through exceptional class quality, trainer development, and member retention.
- Communicate proactively with leadership regarding studio opportunities and operational needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming studio environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with members and contribute to a strong studio community.
- Take initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions that strengthen the business.
Requirements & Expectations
- Comprehensive Pilates education preferred, with a minimum of Mat and Reformer certification. Candidates with a 450-hour comprehensive certification (Mat, Reformer, and Springboard) are strongly preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching apparatus-based group fitness classes.
- Strong understanding of Pilates principles, functional movement, strength training, yoga, and mobility practices.
- Excellent anatomical knowledge and commitment to safe movement.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop instructors.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for professional development and continued education.
- Highly organized, dependable, and punctual.
- Comfortable implementing new systems and operational processes.
- Consistently arrives prepared, maintains a professional presentation, and upholds FS8 brand standards.
- Seeks feedback, leads by example, and contributes to a positive, high-performing studio culture.
