Eighty Eights Coffee + Cocktails is seeking an experienced craft bartender to join our hospitality team. Located near Charlotte’s NoDa arts district, Eighty Eights is an intimate, cocktail-forward lounge known for live music, thoughtfully crafted drinks, and elevated hospitality.
We are looking for someone who understands that exceptional bartending is about more than making a great cocktail. It is about creating genuine connections, anticipating guest needs, working with purpose, and contributing to an experience people want to return to.
The ideal candidate has experience in a craft cocktail or full-service bar environment, strong knowledge of spirits and classic cocktails, and the ability to remain composed and attentive during busy service. We value bartenders who take pride in preparation, presentation, cleanliness, consistency, and teamwork.

Duties
- Prepare and serve classic and signature cocktails according to Eighty Eights recipes, presentation standards, and proper specifications
- Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service while creating genuine connections with guests and providing thoughtful recommendations.
- Accurately enter orders, manage guest tabs, and process payments using our Shift4 POS system
- Prepare the bar for service by completing assigned prep work, stocking products, preparing garnishes, and organizing tools and glassware
- Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, stocking, and side-work responsibilities
- Communicate clearly with servers, hosts, managers, and fellow bartenders to provide smooth and coordinated service
- Remain calm, accurate, and hospitality-focused during busy performances and high-volume periods
- Contribute ideas that improve cocktails, service standards, bar organization, and the overall guest experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender or in food service within the hospitality industry, preferably with fine dining or catering backgrounds
- Strong knowledge of mixology techniques, cocktail recipes, wine varieties, spirits, and craft beer options
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Shift4 or Toast for processing transactions efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse situations gracefully
- Ability to manage time effectively during high-volume periods while maintaining accuracy in cash handling and order fulfillment
- Previous experience with beverage recipe development or creating signature cocktails is a plus
- Experience working in hospitality environments that require multitasking across serving, cashiering, and bar management tasks
This is a part-time position with shifts primarily scheduled Wednesday through Sunday evenings. Our typical bartending shifts run from approximately 5:00 PM until midnight or 1:00 AM. Occasional opportunities may also be available for private events on Monday or Tuesday evenings and Saturday or Sunday mornings.
Schedules are developed around agreed availability and the needs of the business. We are looking for someone who can commit consistently to the availability provided during the hiring process.
