Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive and heavy equipment repair, with experience in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair, ensuring that all vehicles and machinery are operating at peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
- Conduct repairs on transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
- Operate various hand tools and power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
- Fabricate parts as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working with heavy machinery and tools.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
- Proficiency in working with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Experience with electrical systems and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Ability to read schematics for complex machinery.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance practices.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics.
- Previous dealership experience is a plus but not required.
