The Junior Project Manager at Columbia River Plumbing supports the successful execution of commercial plumbing projects from contract award through final closeout. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, this role assists with project coordination, scheduling, documentation, material procurement, subcontractor communication, and field support across commercial, multi-family, public works, tenant improvement, remodel, and residential projects. The Junior Project Manager plays a key role in keeping projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with company standards while developing the skills necessary to manage projects independently in the future.
The ideal candidate has a strong plumbing background and a willingness to develop their project management skills.

OBJECTIVES

Assist with maintaining project schedules and support on-time delivery of active projects by tracking milestones, updating timelines, and communicating potential delays.
- Support project cost management by monitoring budgets, tracking expenses, and assisting with change order documentation.
- Coordinate project activities across commercial, multi-family, public works, TI, and remodel projects while learning all phases of project execution.
- Maintain project documentation including schedules, meeting notes, RFIs, submittals, and closeout materials.
- Assist with material procurement by helping ensure materials, equipment, and supplies are ordered and delivered according to project needs.
- Support client and stakeholder communication by providing timely updates and helping resolve routine project issues.
- Conduct jobsite visits to observe project progress, verify documentation, and support quality and safety initiatives.
- Coordinate communication between clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Assist with prevailing wage documentation, certified payroll tracking, and public works compliance requirements when applicable.
- Help identify potential change orders and support the documentation, pricing, and approval process.
- Support adherence to OSHA regulations, plumbing codes, company policies, and project safety requirements.
- Continuously develop project management skills and identify opportunities to improve project coordination processes.
COMPETENCIES

Basic understanding of project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, project documentation, and coordination.
- Knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, construction practices, and project workflows, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to assist with tracking project costs, reviewing reports, and supporting budget management efforts.
- Familiarity with public works, prevailing wage, and compliance requirements is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to coordinate material orders, deliveries, and project logistics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to seek guidance when issues arise.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software platforms such as BuildOps, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating closely with senior project team members.
- Growth-oriented mindset with a desire to learn project management, construction operations, and leadership skills.
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, plumbing, project coordination, estimating, field operations, or a related role preferred.
- Plumbing field experience, apprenticeship experience, or construction industry exposure is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to commercial, multi-family, public works, TI, or remodel projects is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, business, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; occasional jobsite visits are expected.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
