Part Time Caregiver/ILS coach/social mentor

Our very capable and kind young man is seeking support people to assist him with daily activities, every other Sunday and occasional weekday shifts if you are interested. Marc is friendly and smart, and struggles with executive function and mood.
We need folks who are reliable and prompt, with great attention to detail. The primary duty is to notice Marc’s mood and alertness and tailor reminders and prompts to his needs, stepping in with more support when he is struggling, hanging back and/or pushing him to be independent when he is able. We provide on the job training. Marc’s daily goals include eating healthy and being active and social. He enjoys walks and going out to dinner and movies with friends, and having dates with his girlfriend. We are looking for cheerful individuals who have plenty of patience and energy- an ideal candidate has special needs experience and will enjoy the challenges and rewards of working with a “higher functioning” person.
Job involves meal preparation and transportation. Having your own car is a requirement.
Schedule: Every other Sunday for 6 hours. We can be flexible around the exact hours, we can even split the shift into two shifts. We can also be flexible about which Sundays.
Location: Marc lives in a large shared house in the Calle Willow neighborhood of San Jose. (Willow and Almaden)
Pay: $27-32/hr depending on experience

Duties:
- Simple meal prep - spaghetti with cheese, burritos, salads
- Providing companionship and supportive listening
- Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
- Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
