Job Title: Front Desk / Shop Assistant – Dog Grooming Salon
Job Overview:
We are looking for a permanent, full-time, enthusiastic, dog-loving team member to join our salon! This is a dynamic, hands-on position that combines front desk responsibilities with direct support in the grooming area. While customer service is a key part of the role, this is not a desk-only position—you’ll be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the salon and assisting with the care of our furry clients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service as the first and last point of contact for clients—greeting, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and assisting with product recommendations and purchases
- Manage front desk operations, including check-in/check-out, rebooking appointments, and maintaining accurate client records
- Support groomers with hands-on tasks such as assisting with nail trims, drying, and safely restraining dogs when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary salon environment, including laundry, disinfecting surfaces, and general upkeep
- Monitor dogs in the salon to ensure their safety and comfort, and help manage a calm, controlled environment during busy or noisy times
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, balancing customer interactions with back-of-house support
Qualifications:
- Must love dogs and be comfortable working around multiple dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Willingness to learn proper animal handling techniques and assist with grooming tasks
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to stay organized and positive in a busy environment
- Customer service experience and basic computer skills; experience with scheduling software (Moego is a plus)
- Self-motivated, dependable, and a team player with a friendly, outgoing personality
- Previous pet care or salon experience is a plus; if you do not have direct professional experience with dogs, please include any relevant personal experience (such as pet ownership, volunteering, or pet sitting) in your application for consideration
