The University of New Mexico’s Department of Pathology, Division of Anatomic Pathology, seeks a highly motivated Neuropathologist at all academic ranks (Assistant or Associate Professor) on the Clinician Educator track. We are hiring this subspecialty to accommodate a university-wide workforce expansion. Special consideration will be given to applicants willing to also cover surgical pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide neurosurgical pathology services in a growing academic tertiary care center with a regional outside consult service.

Participate in diagnostic and teaching activities (residents, fellows, and medical students).

May participate in translational research activities if desired (not a requirement for promotion).

Engage with clinical services for the NCI-designated UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center and collaborate with neurooncologists and neurosurgeons in a multidisciplinary tumor board.
This position is located at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH), New Mexico's only Academic Medical Center and Level-1 Trauma Center. The Anatomic Pathology Division is actively involved in cutting-edge research through collaborations with the Department of Pathology, the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Human Tissue Repository, the TriCore Research Institute, and the NIH-funded Clinical Translational Science Center. In addition, research opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) are available through a partnership with Indica Labs (HALO AI) located in Albuquerque, NM.
